Job Summary
The Director is responsible for the leadership and management of recruiting and retention services for Gillette College. The Director will implement GCCD’s comprehensive enrollment management plan. The Director will be responsible for enrollment management and preparing all pertinent reports. The Director also serves as the Designated School Official for SEVIS. This role is charged with planning, implementation, supervising, and assessing recruitment, admissions, and enrollment. The Director creates and directs recruitment and admission strategies that utilize a combination of in-person, virtual, and marketing and promotional outreach efforts. The position works in conjunction with marketing/communication in the conceptualization and creation of a robust marketing strategy to attract high-quality applicants and raise brand awareness.
The Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of recruitment and admissions policies, practices, and services to best meet the immediate and long-range admission goals of the college. The position works closely with the student services department and academic programs to ensure new students seamlessly transition from applicant to student, including developing and implementing strategies to improve new student retention and persistence.

- Ensure the goals, objectives, plans, budgets, policies, practices, and actions produce desired student achievement goals consistent with the overall missions and strategic plan.
- Implementation of innovative and valuable strategies related to reaching prospective students and related audiences will lead to the College’s efforts to demonstrate its value proposition to those audiences.
- Practice and promote continuous improvement principles.
- Promote teamwork and cooperation between departments.
- Embrace current methodologies and develop new initiatives for student recruitment while implementing a strategic plan for first-year and transfer student recruitment.
- Direct efforts to provide high-quality admission and advising services using a team approach.
- Facilitate comprehensive recruitment and a retention program
- Develop, implement, and manage programmatic marketing strategies that increase both the quantity and quality of new students and enhance the retention of undergraduate students at the college.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities which include appropriate training and work assignments, quality performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Provide motivation for the team to achieve and maintain a high level of productivity and morale.
- Direct the application process, from cultivation to evaluation, to decision-making, to final file reconciliation all while ensuring optimal data management practice.
- Fully utilize Colleague modules related to area of responsibility, including Recruiter
- Ensure proper training of enrollment services staff and maintain high-quality data standards.
- Monitors and evaluates on a regular basis the effectiveness of all admissions policies, practices, materials, procedures, and personnel, including the development of evaluation criteria and admissions review committees in collaboration with faculty.
- Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with recruitment team members in each enrollment area to measure progress toward enrollment goals and evaluate the key metrics of prospective student leads and inquiries; appointments; applications; accepts, and newly enrolled student numbers.
- Leads the development, implementation, and management of all recruitment plans and related budgets that address the needs of the various enrollment areas including marketing.
- Works and collaborates closely with academic departments and faculty, athletics and coaches, and all other pertinent offices or departments campus-wide, to develop and implement recruitment and marketing strategies to maximize enrollment efforts.
- Enhances and supports the overall new student recruitment, financial aid models, and student retention efforts through planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs and initiatives, which seek to enroll and retain an academically talented and diverse student body.
- Manage recruitment and campus visitation programs.
- Prepare and maintain statistics relevant to areas of responsibility.
- Work on collaborative DEI goals, priorities and initiatives with other departments
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications ( Employees of the District are required to possess a minimum proficiency level of English, both written and spoken, that will enable them to communicate safely, effectively, and efficiently with students, co-workers, and the public.)
- Bachelor’s degree in an area related to education and/or student services required or 3-5 years of supervisor experience within the related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Minimum of three years of full-time administrative experience at a division dean/department level or higher, preferably in Student Services. Administrative experience in and demonstrated advocacy for Student Services.
- Leadership experience in a collegial participatory governance setting.
- Possess a valid Class C driver's license.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in an area related to education and/or student services
- Previous work experience consistent with the position.

Supervisory and Management Responsibility
