The International Business and Management Department at Dickinson College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor, in the field of accounting, to begin fall 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses in accounting and business areas such as introductory and higher levels of financial and managerial accounting, with the possibility for one repetition.  

Dickinson College is a highly selective liberal arts college in Carlisle, Pennsylvania with a national reputation for leadership in global and sustainability education. The International Business and Management Department is one of the largest and most broadly established, offering a wealth of research and co-curricular opportunities, including the Burgess Institute for the Global Economy, Center for Global Engagement, Dickinson College Farm, and the Center for Sustainability Education.  

Carlisle, PA has a population of around 20,000; in recent years, it has repeatedly been voted among the best small towns in the US, best historic towns, and ‘most livable’ small towns. Traveling by car, it is two hours from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, and three hours from New York City. Responsibilities:  

Develop syllabi, assignments, assessments, and course schedules to meet learning outcomes; develop and deliver content using Dickinson College’s teaching platforms; hold office hours; and fulfill departmental and faculty obligations. Courses will be taught in person on the Dickinson College campus.

Qualifications:   

M.A., M.S., or MBA required; CPA, CFA, Ph.D., or A.B.D. preferred. Alternatively, a CPA with 5+ years of work experience in the accounting field may be considered in lieu of a graduate degree. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching both introductory and intermediate-level accounting courses and/or diverse student groups.
