Job Description

The Graduate Nursing Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for managing clinical requests, assigning student rotations, and overseeing student compliance with clinical site requirements for Graduate nursing programs across multiple campuses.

This role ensures that all nursing students are appropriately assigned to clinical placements that align with their educational needs, while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with university, department, and clinical partner regulations. The coordinator also provides light administrative support at their main campus, acting as a liaison between the School of Nursing, students, faculty, and stakeholders.

This position is ideal for a candidate who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with students and healthcare professionals, and is committed to ensuring successful education experiences for nursing students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and respond to clinical site requests for student placements in Graduate programs (Master's and Doctorate); assist with Anesthesia student clinical placements as needed.
  • Assign students to clinical rotations based on program requirements, availability, suitability of placements, and student needs.
  • Communicate clinical placement assignments to students, faculty, and clinical sites in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Undergraduate Clinical Coordinator with placements as needed by working closely together.
  • Monitor student compliance with clinical site requirements, including immunizations, background checks, certifications, and other documentation.
  • Maintain records of student compliance in internal systems and ensure that all necessary documentation is submitted before clinical placements begin.
  • Communicate with students regarding any outstanding compliance requirements and follow up on missing documentation.
  • Coordinate clinical requests from faculty and external partners, ensuring that student placement needs are met.
  • Work with clinical sites to confirm availability and schedule student rotations in accordance with academic calendars.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve scheduling conflicts or placement issues as they arise.
  • Provide administrative support to nursing faculty and students as needed. Assist other staff as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling, preparing materials, and organizing events for faculty, staff and students.
  • Assist students with inquiries related to course registration, schedules and clinical compliance
  • Provide support for student records.
  • Act as a liaison between the School of Nursing, clinical partners, and university departments to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical sites to support ongoing and future student placements.
  • Regularly update faculty and staff on clinical placement progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Ensure all placements are compliant with university policies, clinical site requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports on student placements and compliance for internal and external review.
  • Assist with audits and accreditation reviews.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program planning and improvement efforts.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the department.
  • Occasional evening or weekends, travel to clinical sites, or other campuses
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered)
  • At least 2 years of experience in an executive support position, student advising, or similar role
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in scheduling and record-keeping systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with higher education or nursing education is a plus.
  • Experience in clinical coordination, healthcare administration, or education.
  • Familiarity with clinical placement processes and compliance regulations.
Additional Information

Salary will be between $49,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
