Job Description

The Department of Human Studies in the School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks to fill a non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in Educational Psychology and Research (9-month appointment). The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Human Studies (https://www.uab.edu/education/home/) is inviting applications from outstanding candidates at the rank of Non-tenure Track Assistant Professor in Educational Psychology and Research (9-month appointment). This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the academic development and professional growth of future educators. This role will primarily focus on teaching courses related to educational psychology, measurement and evaluation in elementary/secondary education, developmental psychology, and lifespan and human development while also providing valuable input to the program and department needs. This position will also allow the opportunity to serve on dissertation committees within the School of Education and across campus as well as serve on committees at the department, school, and university levels. This position has an anticipated start date of August 2025.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Educational Psychology or a related field. Demonstrated successful teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Desired Qualifications: Experience working with diverse disciplines (counseling, health sciences, and education (PK-20).
